Embossing raises a detail from the surface; debossing presses it in. Both depend on the board and tooling.
Keep the design workable
Fine lines and small type need review. Consider what the reverse side will look like and whether the area crosses a fold.
Judge it by touch
Digital artwork cannot show the final depth. Request a representative sample and confirm the tooling before production.
